First day of speech - July 21, 2008

Levi started speech therapy in July. At his well-check in April the pediatrician recommended we look into it because he didn't have any real words and he was 19 months old. By then, he should have had somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 words. Because he has more than a 33% delay in speech, he qualifies for free speech therapy. Actually, it's not free - the wonderful taxpayers of the great state of California pay for my son's speech therapy. Anyhow, I'm grateful that he's getting help in learning to speak. These pix are from his first day. He's only 22 months old and he's going off to "school" with his backpack and everything!

He was in the "mommy and me" class for about 5 weeks and he is now in what's called the "jumpster" class. He attends 3 days a week for almost 2 hours per session. He now has a handful of words including: ball, car, truck, train, shoe, Doc (Doc Hudson, from Cars), hot, and "Se" (for Seth!)

He looks so cute with his little backpack. I think he looks a lot like his Mamma too.

I can't believe how big he looks. It's been too long since we've seen you guys.
